About us

Nakić-Alfirević d.o.o. has been operating since 1993, based in Kadin Glavica (City of Drniš). Proud of our origins, we have strived over the years to bring a touch of millennial perseverance, spirit, and cheerfulness from Petrovo Polje and the Dalmatian Hinterland into our business.

Our more than 30 years of work are characterized by persistence and flexibility to market demands and a distinct recognition through a carefully selected range of machines and partnerships with renowned European manufacturers whose products we offer.

Based on these principles, we have gained respected business partners and developed many friendly relations—not only in Croatia but across the Southeast European market. All this makes us a recognizable and reliable regional player in the trade of these types of machines.

LANDMARKS OF DRNIŠ AND SURROUNDINGS

Ivan Meštrović (August 15, 1883 - January 16, 1962) was a Croatian sculptor, architect, and writer.

Ivan Meštrović He is one of the most prominent Croatian artists of the first half of the 20th century, active as a sculptor, painter, architect, and writer. Meštrović comes from Otavice near Drniš, where he spent his childhood. His talent was recognized early in his homeland. With the support of the mayor of Drniš, Nikola Adžija, he went to study in a stone workshop in Split. He continued his education in Vienna, where after preparation he enrolled in and completed the Academy of Fine Arts, and then studied architecture. He lived, stayed, and worked in numerous world centers, including Paris, Cannes, Zagreb, Belgrade, Rome, Geneva, and Lausanne.

Auguste Rodin (French sculptor), a lifelong friend of Meštrović, once stated: 'Meštrović is the greatest phenomenon among sculptors.' When asked who would replace him after his death, he said: 'Don't worry, Meštrović is greater than me.'

Meštrović i Tesla

“Dear Mr. Tesla, coming here, one of my main wishes was to meet you,” Meštrović addressed Tesla in a letter sent on December 13, 1924, from the Gotham Hotel in New York, asking the great inventor to receive him. Tesla replied two days later from the Marguery Hotel: “Dear and great artist! I gladly received your letter and I will be even happier to meet you in person, as it has been my strong desire for many years.” This began a long-lasting friendship between Ivan Meštrović and Nikola Tesla. “I was deeply moved, almost to tears, watching your magnificent sculptures of Indian horsemen in battle, how you expressed such intense physical effort, wild combat passion, and immense force in cold bronze at the very last moment before the destructive blow,” Tesla wrote to Meštrović on August 21, 1929, after visiting his exhibition in Chicago. Meštrović immediately expressed his gratitude.

Jakov Gotovac (Opera composer) originally from nearby Vinovo Gornje, born in Split.

Composer of the opera 'Ero s onoga svijeta' (Ero from the Other World, premiered in 1835)

Milan Begović(Vrlika) wrote the libretto for the opera 'Ero s onoga svijeta', dramaturg at Deutsche Spielhaus (Hamburg 1908, dramaturg at Vienna's Neue Wiener Bühne 1912–1915).
